Andrea Saltzman is a certified appellate specialist (certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization since 1996) who handles civil appeals, appellate writs and post-trial motions. She also acts as a consultant to trial counsel in both appellate and trial courts, helping them to succeed on appeal—and to economically handle their own appeals and writs, whether they represent the appellant, petitioner or respondent.
Since beginning her practice in 1972, Ms. Saltzman has briefed and argued scores of appeals and writs, encompassing a wide variety of matters. She also has extensive trial court experience, again encompassing a wide variety of matters and including jury trials, law and motion practice, and administrative and traditional writs of mandate. Although Ms. Saltzman’s legal work has been wide-ranging, she has always focused on public law and has acquired substantial expertise in land use, municipal finance, government tort liability and general local government law. She also is an expert on awards of attorney’s fees against public entities.
